Question about dry rock

If I get some rock that has been dry for about 3 months, how can I make sure that it's completely inert, and ready to be mixed with established rock in a tank? I want to add it to what I have, but let it seed and not cause a cycle.

Dead rock needs to be cooked or acid washed clean you can not just throw it in a tank if it has not been cleaned of old stuff that was on there when it was taken out as you will be releasing nitrates and phosphates into your tank

Was thinking muratic acid (however you spell it) but wasn't sure how to rinse it and make sure that it's safe for the tank afterward.

10 parts ro/di to 1part muriatic acid. Make sure to where ppe goggle and long gloves. Make enough ro di to do couple separate bathes to clean off acid. Myself I dunk the dry rock 3-5 min then turn it over. when done pour baking soda in the solution when it stops bubbling ok to dump down the sewer. All this has to be done outside
