Purple Up with Essential Elements

I've got a small bottle of both, and would like to start dosing my 55g tank with a small capful of each.

Looking at the labels, it appears Purple up is higher in Calcium, while the EE is higher in traces such as stronium and iodine.

Am I able to add both of these at the same time? If not, how far in between each dose should I wait? Finally, is it even safe to use both of these at the same time?

there shouldn't be any reason that you couldn't add both. I think purple up is just like adding a calcium supplement, just make sure your alkalinity stays in check as well. Are you sure you need to add anything at all? Have you tested your iodine etc.?
 
the EE and Purple up can be used at the same time. I use both and mix them while feeding with zoaplex. I even dose once every 2 weeks with kalkwasser. If you're putting mushrooms in the tank, I would go out and also get some Lugol's and add about 2 drops/week for Iodine supp.. the Mushrooms will thank you with growth and color.
