pom pom xenia

I think I'm finally brave enough to frag my pom pom xenia to spread it out in my tank. I was going to just cut the stalks down as close to the rock as possible and I just have a quick question. Should I cut the xenia inside or outside my tank? Thanks in advance,

I cut em in my tank as well as the wife's anno all the time.. there's a smoky liquid released, but it doesn't seem to hurt anything.

I just grab them with hemostats and start ripping away. Works really good. Also i do it in the tank.

My xenia multiplies so quickly there's no need to snip or tug it :lol:
