Pink Gorgonian

Hello all, I have a rather stupid question. I have the pink gorgonian which does not stay open all the time. It seems like it's mainly open after I complete a feeding. So my question is if that is typical for this type of coral. I wasn't sure if the general rule of the coral not open = not happy does not apply to this guy

I had and orange one the polyps were always out are you target feeding it

Yes.....I turn the power heads off, and feed it DT.

My orange Gorgonian only has his polyps out when feeding for the most part. I have had him for about 3 years and when I see them come out I naturally assume he is looking for food.
