New Crees

Pretty interesting. Seeing that the LED's already produce more PAR than most types of light due to its narrow banding of light, this will really bump up the power. It would worry me about bleaching if all LED's get too powerful, but I guess you could always scale them back and save even more on your electric bill. Woo Hoo.

At this point the only benefit should be the reduction in the total number of LEDs you have to use to cover a certain area. I didn't think there was much left to question on whether LEDs will grow coral, I plan on switching entirely to LEDs over the next few months.

Yes you could probably reduce the amount of LED's, but I think you would sacrifice some spread. I guess that could be worked out. I agree. I love my LED's. I wish the setup I have would have came out earlier. The coral colors are great, and my electric bill is allot less.

These guys claim to have a 10 watt array at 30000k
I would like to see one running. http://www.hero-ledstore.com/heroled-10w-led-c-2_182.html
100 watt version: http://www.topledlight.com/100w-cold-white-led-aquarium-light-color-temp-30000k_p666.html

Here is a single 10,000k array that almost matches a 250 watt MH bulb at 16000 lumens vs the MH at around 20000.

There are 20000k arrays there that should match the old Radium bulbs too.
