My return pump is driving me to drink!

Not really, I don't need an excuse for that.

I'm using a mag 7 on a 58 gal rr tank with a 1" overflow and 3/4" return. It sounds like a toilet is flushing every couple minutes. Not a good thing since the tank is in my bedroom.

Is this because the pump is pushing to much water or what?

ok, I pushed the drain pipe down a little and it seems to not be that bad anymore. I'm still thinking about drinking

If you are using a flexible drain line from your Durso to your sump make sure it does not have a low point in the return line. a point in wich the flex hose dips lower than where it enters the sump. this can cause a periodic buildup of water in the return line. giving you a gurgle every few seconds.
you want a direct angle in the drain line to the sump no dip.

i have it all. I've got the dip, the tubing going more that 2" under the water. I've got it somewhat quiet now. At least I can sleep at night.
