I am moving a new tank in and I need to keep about 10 fish alive for a week or two as I was told when moving tank it would go thru a short cycle. Any suggestions?

Make arrangements with your local LFS to hold them for you is one option. They may charge a small weekly fee but no more than if you went out and bought holding containers etc.
