Lobophytum Leather dropping lobes

I have a large Lobophytum leather that is dropping lobes. A white line appears at the base of a lobe and then the leather slowly tears along the line. It is growing new lobes as fast as it drops them and has even increased in size. The leather is currently 7"x8" but can expand out to 10". Has anyone experienced this in the Lobophytum? When do they stop propagating? And does anyone know what the trigger is? All parameters are stable, no changes.

Yeah, I thought it was cool until he hit frag #10 with no stop in sight and then I started worrying. I think the trigger was using the Coral Frenzy to feed the filter feeders. My other Lobo is 3x the size of the one in the picture and I can't afford (space wise) for him to get all happy on me. As it is I may have to re-home that one due to size. Curious to see how fast the frags grow. Letting them heal over before I try to glue them to plugs. Grow out tank is going to look like a Leather farm!
