was thinking of making a diy led fixture, was wondering what everyone uses for their system. I know crees but what spectrum

Cool white 5700-6300K ?

blues 14 k?

wanted to implement some violet and red as well, wondering if that is a good idea. thanks for your advice :D

Checkout some of the walk throughs and such on https://www.ledgroupbuy.com. I got all my stuff there and they do a good job explaining what you need.

did some shopping around, was thinking of getting this

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ECHISKQ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A12DDOR52M4HB5

only thing is it covers 28inches so i will need about 2 since my tank is 60 inches.

any one have recommendations?

Will check it out. However I am considering just buying the lights from the first link. Removes the hassle of building the LEDs and having loose wires

Looks almost identical to the reef breeders.

Hahah oh man ur right. The led place quoted me 620 for 2 units. Lemme see if reef breeders can offer them at a better price

I bought two 165w spectrum units and I am still not sure if my stuff is liking them after I have adjusted the brightness and blue spread....Let me know how yours turns out

Check out the group buy thread for Reef Radiance going on this week. Same lights and I think they offer a 2 year warranty.

2 reefbreeders value fixtures would work great. IMO they are the best bang for your buck. said:
I agree reef breeders are your best bang for your buck. But if you want the best looking bang for your buck get two maxspect razors
