lol bad grammar sorry

Ok so i guess i should start off with this, my last tank was about 5 years ago i had a 29g bio cube. i ended up getting a massive hair algae outbreak because i got a bad piece of rock with phosphates off the chart.
ill spare you the details but a event happened that made me want to start a tank up and dedicate it to ................. anyway i have a jbj 45 gal RL rimless series its been running for about 2 months with 2 AI primes (yeah its prolly over kill ) anyways recently this happened to my tank https://www.dropbox.com/home?preview=20160709_154859.jpg ... if someone could tell me how to put a picture directly on the post let me know... anyway I'm pretty sure it is because i hit it with to much light to quick i was doing 100 % violet/DB/Blue like 10% red and green and 20 %white total i think like 65 watts for 8 hours then i had DB and blue at like 7% as moon lights... again i havnt had a tank in 5 years i diddnt know the advancement in lights since then currently I'm only running DB and blue at about 15% for 5 hours 1 hour ramp up and down ...
ok so now i need help with filtration https://www.dropbox.com/home?preview=20160712_200759.jpg and https://www.dropbox.com/home?preview=20160712_200818.jpg alright starting left from right first compartment i have a intank media basket with filter floss in first compartment and a large bag of chemi pure blue in the second compartment and in the third compartment i have live rock .. the second chamber i have half live rock rubble and top half is cheato ... on the right side of the tank i have the stock media basket with first 2 compartments filled with filter floss .. 3rd has a bag of puragen the chamber also has a Innovative Marine MiniMax All-In-One Media Reactor that is rated for i think 20gallons running activated carbon .. and then a AquaMaxx HOB-1 Hang-On-Back Protein Skimmer intake in the first chamger and outtake goes into chamber 2 ... chamber 2 is filled with live rock as well as the bottem of chamber 1 on the right side .... now here is my question ...should i take the chemi pure blue out the left side and in its place put another refugium plant .. for that matter .. i do have a way to make the first 3 inches of the first left chamber filter floss and the rest of the chamber i could do all rock or all plant or half rock half plant .. if so what should it be .,. then get a larger media reactor for activated carbon and put that in the center between the light mounts and then put GFO media in the minimax reactor on the right side

this tank is VERY important to me and I'm super worried about algae since it did take down my first tank
if anyone has any ideas on how to get light to my frag of fire and ice polyps and frag of hammer coral please let me know i would love to black out my tank to starve out that algae but i don't want to loose my coral and i don't have a quarantine tank yet

ohh and here is my tank https://www.dropbox.com/home?preview=20160703_210934.jpg
