[At the meeting at TI this month I traded for a few sps corals. These are my first ones. All seem to be OK except for the one in the center of the picture. I think it is a Montipora? A correct ID would also be appreciated. The problem is that on one of the stalks, the polyps only open at the top 75% of the coral. As you can see in the picture, the bottom has no polpys. The frag just behind it ,dont know what it is, seems to be doing the same. Is this normal for a frag? I do not have halides, but would like to get them. My tank has 4 110W VHO's. Any comments?]

[Yes, that is actually normal. What happens is when you handle it or glue it in place, it kills a bit of the coral. However, if the tank is stable and you are doing everything right, tissue will grow over that dead area again and hide it all.]

[Right now I am waiting Oceanic to contact me saying the new tank is ready. Everything is doing as good as possible in the two temporary tanks I set up.]
