I purchased a Reef Octopus XP2000 space saver last month. The bubble blaster pump that it came with sits inside the skimmer. Actually, it kind of "hangs" in place because the very bottom of the skimmer body is longer than the height of the pump. The weight of the pump is causing it to disconnect from the skimmer body. I attached a "base" to the pump so that it sits level with the bottom of the skimmer but for the amount of money I feel I spent on this skimmer, it should be right. It should fit snug inside there and not come loose every time I bump the skimmer. A picture might be helpful in this case:
