how to clean Hydor pumps?

My hydor pumps are finally starting to be blocked by Purple/Pink Coralline Algae. How do you clean these pumps?

Remove them from the tank and put them all in a bucket of vinegar water. Run the pumps for a day or two to keep the water moving and the stuff should just disolve off. You do have backups to trade out, right?

u dont have to leave it in the vinegar for days few hours will work. Its actually better not to leave it in there for days cause the vinegar will eat the pump away, on any brand pump

Thanks. Works great!! Took about 4 hours to clean. Now does anyone want to buy a NEW hydor pump? New, never used, hehe

Too bad beer doesn't work also. It's always good to have more reasons to stock up.
