Help " when do you give up hope "

My Pink tip was added Wed 27, and was really spread out over a few rocks..I noticed Sun that he had moved in between two wedged rocks and looked to be splitting. Then came Monday, he started going in his little bubble and now he's upside down in the sand...I can't see anything movement out of him..When should I give up hope or how can I tell if he's alive.. :twisted:
 
If it is slightly sticky, it is still alive.

If it center is gone, so that it resembles a donut, it may be a goner.

If you scoop it out and smell it and it reaks, it is dead.
 
It's over, I went home at lunch and swooped him with the net..I then layed him in a bowl and he stunk bad...really bad...Now i need to find out what happened. Thanks again :idea:
