I wasn't concerned a few months ago with a few heads of this ... but having seen many items that look like it on this board and everyone saying to NUKE it ... I am needing to know exactly what I have.

The heads are about 1/2 inch. The main rock that I glued in place had about 6 heads 3 months ago ... now I count 15 ... also 2 new heads by the BTA and another loner up front.

Right now they look brownish green ... under luner they have a neon green center and green glow.

Thanks in advance ...
Lisa

Okay ... thanks so much.

All pictures are of the same polyps in question ... the middle pic is without a flash on camera. ... it is the loner upfront that appeared this week. The bottom pic shows the 15 heads on the one rock ... top pic has (see one with arrow) of the same thing from the rock. ... Sure wish I knew what a majano was. Aiptasia ... come and gone (no problem).

On another note ... question ... seems zoas and other polyps with LONG body/stem quickly spread vs those with head close to rock (???)

[Thank you! I won't forget that ... very distinct ... I will know it when I see it and thank goodness never have.] [smilie=whew.gif]

I found exactly what they are -- giant green palys ... http://www.wtsps.net/images/Green%20polyps.jpg

This is what they look like to look at them ... my camera is way off ... or ME on setting up the camera.

So ... good or bad? If fast spreading ... will they WIN when competing for space with zoas and plant themselves in my LPS?

Hi again,

Since original post this is now out of control. These things multipy like crazy! While sitting and watching my fish ... I saw a cloud of white that was omitted from the center of one of these. I've seen it a few times now as if this is how it is spreading. No idea what the white liquid cloud is. I gave my neighbor the *colony* of about 50+ polyps ... I now have 3 of these in one of my zoa colonys ... 3 in a colony of buttom polys ... 4 more on various rocks. How can I get rid of them? Can I just PLUCK them? They are ugly (except under lunar lights), invasive ... I want to be rid of them. Please and thanks in advance for you help!
