Ive had this copperband for approx a month and he appears healthy except for the white growths on his fins. I have a hospital tank filling now and plan to move him as soon as I have a plan of action.

I think it is a virus. My emperor had it when I got him and I put him in hypo and it went away. Matt may have some more info for you. I think that it goes away eventually by itself.
