My son baddly wants a puffer fish. My questions are how big do they get/min. tank size, and what other fish go well with them? Pics and all info welcomed. Thank you
It depends on the type of puffer The dwarfs stay very small ( less than an inch) while some of the green spotted puffers can get 3-5 inches. The dwarfs can go into a very small tank (5 galllons) but I'd keep the bigger in a 20.
We had a beautiful green spotted puffer in our community tank with some angels, clown loaches, a beta and some SAEs. All we going well, we thought, until he started nipping at the angels fins. If you give them ample space to hide and feed them well then they can play nice but I'd watch them for sure. Our guy fell victim to the filter and I was crushed
