A weblike substance could either be feeder/sweeper tentacles (good) or a sign of stress (not good, but not unusual under certain conditions) . But we'd need to know a lot more to be sure.

First, what kind of coral is it? Pics would help, if you can take some. Is your tank new or established? Did you just add the coral or has it been there for a while? Does the web come out at certain times/under certain lighting conditions? Where is the coral placed in the tank in terms of lighting and flow? Does the web completely detach from the coral, or does it seem like the coral can retract the web?

Have you tested nitrates, phosphates, calcium, magnesium, alkalinity recently?

Sorry for all the questions, but it's hard to give a definitive answer without knowing a bit more.

I read through some of your old posts and it sounds like your tank might still be too young to support many kinds of coral. Are you still using dechlorinated tap water or did you start using RODI water?
