CA Testing

I tried to test my water for calcium using API test kit. I did 3 times and failed to get a good result. Water is always pink. The more drop I put in, the darker the pink, but it never turns to purple/blue.
I followed the instructions:
1. Rinse test bottle.
2. 5ml into the bottle, drop 10 drops from bottle #1 and shake.
3. Shake bottle #2, drop one drop at a time, then shake.
4. Repeat step 3.

Here is the result after 21-22 drops. I dropped about 30 drops on previous test with the same result. Tell me what I did wrong. Bad test kit? Is there a better test kit?

What's your alk at? Might take a sample to your lfs have them test it

Alk is 8 dkh. DNA charges $2 for testing Ca. Does any LFS give free Ca testing?

Take your tank water sample back to where you bought your test kit to rule out a bad test kit they will prob replace it
