55 gallon turned on side for shallow reef

Does anybody have experience doing this or know someone that could help out if I had the glass cut to do it?
 
So you're wanting to take a 55 gal tank, pull off one of the sides and put a new piece of glass where the top was? I'd probably take it to a glass shop to have it done as I'd be too uncomfortable of leaks or blowing a seal without it being done professionally.
 
How thick is the glass? Are you taking off a plastic frame?

yea, I would take off the frame and probably add euro bracing to it. I can measure and get the class cut but I want it to have a well done caulk job and I'm not comfortable doing that myself. I got the idea from one for sale on the forum right now. I have a 55 already though. I think it is probably 3/8 glass.
 
When you take the front glass off and cut it to to size you can prob use the excess for the euro brace and I have done similar cut a 75 gallon in half to make a frag tank
