This is my 46 gallon tank that I have had running since 2002. I started with one branch of frogspawn with a few heads. It has taken over my tank and I am considering upgrading to a Deep Sea Aquatics model 90. I selected this tank because its the same length as my current tank. I need some advice on how to do the move to the bigger tank.
Can I do the following?:
1. Transfer the water and frogspawn to Rubbermaid storage bins
2. Move the current tank out of the way
3. Set up the new tank
4. Add the sand, water, and frogspawn
5. Add freshly made water to fill

I'm open to any other suggestions.

I would use old water and as little new water as possible. Will help speed up there Mini Cycle you will under go.

If you used just a small layer of sand all your current live rock and new fresh water i think you will be fine. Your LR should stop any cycle since you listed no fish and frogspawn is a hardy coral. SW carries little cycling help bacteria so imo it won't help using old water. I would not pull sand from that deep sand bed and use in new tank. Then you will likely have a cycle.
