250W HQI Suggestions

Hey Guys,

I have been out of the loop for a while, but I need some help deciding which bulbs to go with for my tank. I'm not sure if there are any new bulbs out that outperform previous bulbs. Right now I have 2-14K BLV's and 2-14K Ushios 250W HQI's. I want a bulb w/ high par, but with a nice color. Anyone have any reccomendations? Where's the best place to buy? I also need a new ballast. It seems my Blue Wave ballast crapped out. Will sunlight supply repair ballast? Thanks for your help.
 
phoenix 14k bulbs from what i heard are the best. I would not hesitate using them if i had de setup again
 
What is wrong with the Blue Wave ballast? Did you take it apart yet? You might just need to replace the capacitor, which is quite inexpensive.
 
2nd the Phoenix 14k. I've had them for a couple months on 2 of my 5 bulbs. Love them and they have great PAR and a nice blue color.

I really wish they made them in SE!

Tank still doing well? It was always pretty nice!
