[I *think* I know the answer to this, but I want to double check... You should not perform any water changes on a new tank while it's cycling (assuming that there are no fish in it.)
I have a new 10g reef tank that's about a week old. The only thing in it other than sand is 10lbs of rock. My plan is to let it sit as is for several weeks (with the protein skimmer/filters etc running of course) before changing out any water. The only water that's going into the tank is fresh water to replace what I'm losing from evaporation.]
