pulsing Xenia

I got this xenia fron Frank's this weekend. it looks like it is three "stalks" if you will. i would like to spread them out over the tank if i can. since i am pretty new to this i am not sure how to do it. do i pull it off the rock? i haven''t had it long enough to coax it to move yet, so what are my options to spread this thing out?

You can cut it with a pair of scissors down near the bottom, but beware, xenia grows very very fast. You may try just cutting it and placing it all on one rock but a little spread out. I would hate for you tank to be nothing but xenia when that stuff starts taking off! :wink:
 
one way as already listed is to simply just cut them from the stalk.

I however prefer to take rubble from my sump and bury the xenia. in about two weeks the xenia should grow through the rubble and over it, thereby seperating itself in three or four sections, this way its already attatched to some rock for easy placement. don't be worried to rough it up a bit, that xenia is some resiliant stuff.
