So I got the itch to start a nano tank. I picked up a 2.5 gallon from petsmart and an Aqua Clear 20. I had plan to put a seahorse in there and not wanting to risk him getting suck in into the suction pipe of the AC20.
I got this idea from someone that I can't recall who or where lol...
All I did was extend the suction tube down to the tank bottom, run it all along the back of the tank and comes back up on the other side. It skims the surface very efficiently into the AC20
If you look on the back you can see that I burried the horizontal pipe along the backglass and not seen. I am planning to put some larger piece of LR by the suction tube.
It works very well but you have to keep an eye on the water level or have an auto top off. Or you can lower the suction tube a bit lower about 1/4" to 1/2" below water surface.
Enjoy !
