Mushroom Color

I have some beautiful green mushrooms when I first turn the light on in the morning. Within 3 hours, they are a rusty brown color. I'm thinking it's a problem with too much light, but wanted to confirm. The lighting is 150w/20,000K. The tank is a 42 Hex. Thanks.
 
How close are the mushrooms to the lights? They may be getting a tan :D

My mushrooms show bright green during the actnic cycle, and blue when the MH's come on.
 
They are at the bottom of the tank and off to the side. Some of them are under the shade of a rock. Is there anything I can do to get the color back? Unlike us, tan's don't look so good on them. :)

Nitrites=0
PH=8.2

Nitrates are ~25. I'm working on lowering these with water changes. I was going to do another large water change this weekend. Would the colors change everyday after the lights have been on if it's a water quality issue? Maybe a big PH swing?
 
Melissa, my greenies change during the lighting cycle. They're also growing / reproducing, so I wouldn't say there's anything wrong at all. :)
