Display Refugium plumbing Q's

I am planning on adding a large display tank (75 gallon-ish) to my current 180g and use it as a display refugium

One question I have is: how would I plumb this into my current system? Through the sump?

How big of a pump do I need to move enough water through that big of a refugium, and will my sump be able to handle that type of water flow?

I have 2 Turbo Sea pumps running my dual returns in a 180 All Glass aquarium.

The one trick I am trying to figure out now is how do I get under my stairs to run the water lines. I have my main tank in the living area, and I want to go through the stairs and have the refugium in my den. There is a hollow space under my stairs so it should be do-able.

Thanks!

You will probably just need two return pumps. One to each tank, or one large one that pumps to both if you prefer. If the latter, you can use gate valves to dial in the amount of flow you want to each tank.

The most important factor is that your sump can hold all the water that drains down from both tanks in the event of a power/pump failure.
