Clam me!

I have a 46g bowfront, with 192w of PC lighting. I believe there is room on the front for a 36" HO T5 fixture. Would the additional 78w of light put me in clam territory, or do I have to get rid of my current fixture for that?

I think you would be ok if you could keep it up high in the rockwork. Croceas and maximas are typically only found in rockwork so I would recommend finding a suitable location in your rocks.

Ultimately, you should look to switch over to all T5's or Halides if you truly want to keep clams.

I know price is an issue, but I have the same tank and I run a 4x39 T5 setup on it and two clams seem to be doing good in it. Both clams came from MH tanks originally but seem like they are doing good under the T5. If you keep your eyes open, you can actually get a T5 setup fairly cheap
