Anyone seen a seahorse pair mate

I came home the other night with some friend to show off my little buddies and there they were one had its tail wrapped around the other and was not letting go the other was laying on its back just laying there. I dont have a clue what these guys do to spawn could they hvae been mating.
 
Probably not.

They have to be face to face so the female can deposit eggs in the male's pouch.

Lots of times the will court many days before they actually mate so it should have been that. Otherwise sometimes the just wrap on each other every once in a while for no reason. It usually makes one mad. The courtship usually takes place right before lights out and lasts quite a while. There is no mistaking it once you see it.
