Zoas not opening

I have one colony of zoanthids that is not opening. It started from the bottom of the colony not opening up and has slowly crept up to the point were only a few at the top of the colony are still open. Please help, thank you.

You either have some bugs eating your zoanthids or your flame angle picks on it when you are not around.

I think it more likely some little critters are causing your zoa to close up. You may want to look closely to your zoas and see if you have any critters on it.

I have looked on the zoas and don't see anything, I have looked for nudis and spiders and don't see anything. I could be missing them for the reason that I don't truly know what I am looking for.

I have had this issue in the past. I had to move the zoos to a new local with a different flow. I also have had zoos that were closed up for a month. One day after a massive water change without properly adjusting the temp, they opened up. My tank dropped 2.5 degrees in less than a minute. I don't recommend doing that, it is very stupid. My zoos opened and have remained opened, but I will never be that impatient with a water change again.

Double check the salinity in your tank. If it is 1.028sg, they tend to close up.

My tank temperature is between 78 and 80 degrees and my sg is about 1.022. I just don't know what to do to get these guys to open up.

So I still don't know what to do. I have heard of a dips that I can do, what does that consist of. There is the freshwater dip, what does this procedure consist of? I have also heard of the water and lugols dip what does that procedure consist of? Thank all of you for your help I hope to hear from you soon.
