zoas going going gone

Has anyone had a problem with blue-legged hermits and/or emerald crabs eatting their zoas?

I had to move my zoas from one tank to another. Later, I noticed an emerald crab and multiple small bl hermits hovering over the plug. Now, I have noticed that they are GONE. Seems several frags are missing from their plugs. Others are fine -- at least for the moment.

Were they inspecting and/or cleaning the plug or eating the zoas? The zoas were drawn-in so they may have been stressed or possibly dead(?). Not sure

I had that problem too Jim. I took out the emerald crab and scarlet hermit out and put it in another tank. The zoas ended up being healthy again. Are you dropping pellets at the bottom of the tank so they have something to eat?

I had this problem with one of my snails before. But when I read up on some articles n such I found out that snails and crabs could be picking them off to get to food under them. I had some purple deaths, armor of god, and white people eaters missing. I found my AOG and White PE's floating around on the sand in different places but I didnt find em all. White PEs had died too. Maybe you should just look around your sandbed..might happen to find them laying around.

I have not had any crabs eat them Jim, but....I can assure you and promise you that I have personally watched the little star fish destroy an entire colony of keds reds before I could do anything about it. Thus, a Harlequin in our tank
