I started building my sump/refugium last night, and this is going to sound funny to some I'm sure, but I got my first baffle siliconed in. It looked good. Nice and level, straight, etc. It was the middle baffle that sits higher for the bubble trap. Alright...My sump is only 30 inches long, so I don't have much room to work with. I've got the intake, return, refugium design going on. So I go to start siliconing the first baffle (low baffle on the skimmer side), and the measurements I went with were 1 1/2 inches apart. Little did know I'm going to need a hand about the size of my six year old to silicone the side next to the higher baffle. OOPS! I could get about half way down on the sides, and I got the bottom because the next baffle is off the bottom by an 1 1/2.
How do you guys silicone the sides that are close like that. Is there a nose or needle I can attach to the tube of silicone? Should I just silicone the one side real well. I don't believe you can apply more after it drys right?
Anyway, your help would be appreicated. I hope to finish it tonight.
