Wrasses

Do all reef safe wrasses really need an established pod population or is it mostly just the 6 line wrasse? I know they'll eat the frozen food and stuff I feed my fish, but can I get a wrasse before I develop a pod population?

I'd strongly consider leaving the six line out. Some people have great luck with them as they are super hardy, but at the end of the day, most see them turn into bullies. In regard to wrasses and pod population- The only species it really matters with are any from the Macropharyngodon genus.
Most flashers and fairies will do quite well off of a strictly prepared diet.
I have a wrasse thread in my signature if you ever pick one up, be sure to share.

My six line is a huge bully and a eating machine. Hoping when I introduce him to a new yellow tang, he will no longer be the boss and will calm down some. ( wishful thinking )

Thanks! Don't really have any interest in a six line. I plan on getting a filamented flasher and a mystery wrasse.
