For a while we have been trying to come up with a creative home for some of our Wrasse in our bare bottom tank. After some research we came across a company called The Alternative Reef (http://www.thealternativereef.com). Though the ceramic dens are not shown on the website I found some other forums where folks were saying he made special ceramic stuff.
I emailed Scott and told him what we were looking for and within 24hrs I had an email response with some examples.
First one we got. Not really big enough to house more than 1 wrasse:

Once I received it we were happy with it but wanted to make some changes so I emailed Scott again with some questions to see if he could accommodate some designs we had in mind. Basically we were looking for one that could house 2 wrasse and this is what Scott came back with. He even added in some holes and frag plugs. It fit the bill perfectly:

We also wanted one that could try and keep the sand in when the wrasse were diving in. Since we have a bare bottom tank we explained what we wanted and this is what he came up with. It's hard to tell but the smaller openings are large enough for the wrasse to go through but they also partially cover the hole.

Next step is to put them in the tank. Hope they like their new home.
