Would a Flame Angel pick on a Sea Horse?

Got a buddy that needs to give up his pair of small orange Sea Horses, and I'm the only one he "trusts" to give them too. Only problem is that I already have a Royal Grama and a Flame Angel in the tank they'd go into. The RG is pretty tame, and doesn't mess with anyone, but I don't know about the Flame... Think he'd pick on them?

i have to agree with Matt. Unless you hand feed them the other two fish will scarf up all the food before the ponies get a chance to eat.

Seahorses should really be kept in a speicies specifc tank or with other slow eaters.

If he's looking for a home for them, let me know. I have a seahorse tank set up. The pair I have is very healthy and I'd like to get them some company.

He might. I kept my golden angel with my seahorses for awhile. He started nipping on them after awhile. I eventually sold the angel. Seahorses get algae and stuff growing on them it is too tempting for some fish to nip at them.

We also have both a flame and sea horses and I don't think I would ever trust an adult flame to leave them alone. This seems to be especially true when the flame is the largest (alpha) animal in the tank, but even a fairly timid 6-line we had with some at one time, finally got older and started bullying the horses a bit too. Just our experience.

Yeah, had a Blenny with that issue.

The plan is for the Flame to move to my 90 when I get it done, so then the Sea Horses will have the other tank to themselves. Hmm... might give it a try, and if the worst case happens, then they'll have to find someplace else to live.

Thanks all.

Are you considering putting the horses in the nanocube with the angel? If so I think you are asking for trouble. Horses are such sloooowww eaters. If you feed enough to get the horses fed you'll probably start having water quality issues. Horses are quite stressed by moves as it is let alone a stressful new companion.

The Flame is actually quick shy, and spends most of his time in the back of the rockwork, peeking out. It's the Damsel that's got to go!

I'm thinking that if I turn off the pumps to feed, and target feed both the Flame and the Sea Horses, that might provide enough for both. The Flame is a bit of a pig though...
