[i went camping this weekend, and i turned the ac off in the house. well i guess it helped regulate my water temp, because when i got home the water in the tank was 95.
i did not lose any fish, but i lost a gsp colony a big one too.
i lost xenia, and a gonapora. my yellow pollops made it.

why me?]

[I'm really sorry about your losses but I have to ask, it's August in Texas, why would you turn the AC off (even if we did get a "cold" front that brought it down to 86) ?]

[I know your pain. Ours was just under $400 last month. Do you realize how much electricity you used to cool the house back down after a weekend of no AC? Ours will run for a long time, non-stop, just to cool down a couple degrees. I couldn't imagine what it would cost to cool down 15-20 degrees ]

[Three words
Digital, Programable, Thermostats.

They cut my bill by 20% from the first month I installed it. It's kinda like the "Ronco Cooker" SET IT AND FORGET IT!

Those of you how are hooked on infomercials like I am will understand that :laugh long:]

[I set my thermostat to 78 (for my tanks) and use ceiling fans...
I also went on the load-balancing plan to smooth out the bills over the year.
I had Solar Screens installed - dang! that 90% blocking really cools things down!
I have the solar film on west windows and that helps as well.]
