Who drills tanks??

Who or where can i get my glass cube drilled?? And what do they charge per hole?? I was going to order bits and do it my self, but i wanted to get a price first, sometimes it's cheaper to get someone else to do the work after i buy all the stuff i'll be needing!

After doing this same search I found that it was easier and cheaper to do it myself. I even had a hard time finding someone that would do it. Even the two glass shops close to me wouldn't drill it for me.

I found the bits on ebay, and they weren't that expensive. I think around 10 dollars each. IME these cheap bits are only good for maybe 3 holes though. I picked up some plumbers putty at Home Depot. That was also pretty cheap.

I was a nervous wreck before the first hole, but now that I have done a few holes, I wouldn't hesitate a second to do it again.

You are sure that the glass isn't tempered right?

back isn't, bottom is    I was going to do a pillar fromthe center with fish"swim" space all the way around the drain, now im going to do three holes in the back 1" drain and 2 3/4" returns. I hope that's good enough.

Adam Moody and his cell number is 817-992-0779. He works with glass as a profession and is very reasonable. He makes house calls.

I took mine to a glass store in Bedford. They had a cool "tri-pod" that held the bit, and a big, metal ring they put around it to keep it from vibrating. It was cheap (about $20) and they got to it as soon as I walked in.

I would but I feel better leaving it in the hands of a professional for $10 a hole.

I tend to be too rough with cutting and drilling. Id probably break it.

I purchased all the necessary equipment and drilled my own tank! Three holes so far, with one more on the way. Its got a 1" for the overflow, a 1" for the intake on the closed loop and two 3/4" returns in the top two corners. I will be using a mag 5 for a return and maybe a mag7 for a closed loop, alot of flow for just 30 gallons!!! I might use a mag 5 and a mag 3, undecided, depends on which one i feel works best with my tank after i fill it with rock.
