White spots in return ?

For years I thought it was calcium deposits. Now I'm not so sure as a few years ago some bumble bee snails I purchased had them on the shell. I put them in the biocube and the biocube back wall is loaded. If you flick it off and put it between your fingers and rub it starts hard but then can be rubbed/dissolved into a *cloud*. They do no harm ... just ugly.

It's a type of worm I believe. Another form of filter feeders.

They are all over my back wall of my tank. I like the look of the background of the tank with them and the numerous other algae growths. They are a filter feeding worm. I have had them in all of my tanks and they have not done any harm. IME they have not gotten much bigger than a pin head.
