Where To Get Sand?

Hi,
There are a lot of folks using the Pavestone brand Pulverized Limestone that's at Home Depot..it's located in the gardening section. Here's the link with the pic of the correct type. HTH

Cheers!

I added pavestone sand to my tank a couple weeks back and love it. I've tried to find it in a couple home depots and couldn't find it. I was fixing to leave the last one and looked around the grass fertilizer and I found the sand. Make sure you look there if you can't find it anywhere else. Also don't bother asking someone who works there if they have it. I asked and they told me they didn't sell it.

Also www.fish.com has sand for 16.99 a bag (pink fiji) and free shipping.

Thanks for the advice. That pavestone sand does look a bit brown though said:
You should look at it in someone's tank, after it's rinsed very good it is not brown at all, white but not bright white....and it's under $5 for 50lbs.

Cheers!

I am using pavestone in our 240 gallon. It is not brown, it is white. You have to really rinse this sand real well. I get little cloud storms every now and then because of my triggers digging around.

One additional note...there is a pavestone sand that is brown but that's not what you want, you want the pulverized limestone. Make sure you scroll down to the bottom of the link above to see the correct bag...You can also search this forum and see some tanks/fuges that have it.

Cheers!

If you look at my "360 Build" thread down this page a few you can see a couple of good pictures of the pavestone sand in my tank on the second page.

I am very happy with the pulverized limestone product. It doesn't buffer as well as aragonite sand, but it does have some buffering ability.
