No not at all, alot of sps do not have them. But I do know what corals look like when they have them and know which ones they tend to attack. And that coral is a prime target.]

[Well,, when they have them the polyps dont extend. they stay retracted,,, and I look pieces over very well before i bring them home.. Im far from a newbie..:)

[I can show you sps that with polyps extended that have them all over. That is far from being a standard that they do not have them. That may certainly be an sps that does not have them, but it is one one that will be attacked by them if exposed. And you can physically look all you want when you inspect the coral. The chances are at the time you are placing them in the tank, the redbugs will be inside the coral in the polyp opening.]

Here is a piece of granulosa.....
This is what i have. Ive had 7-8 colonies of this in my experience in the hobby over the last 12 years. One of which was handed on to a few of our higher ups in the hobby.. Ive only lost one of them which was due to a power outage. This is a bali AQ piece so it should hold up very well to my intense lighting and husbandry of my system. caroliniana is very similar , but the branches are more elongated on the caroliniana.
