What to do

[The other week I discovered the ugliest thing in my tank. A Sea cucumber. Its ugly, about 1/2v inch around and about four inches long. The tank is almost two years old so he must be a good hider. Well as of 7:00 tonight he is out in the open in the front of the tank. My question is weather to use this opportunity to pluck him out and into the refugium?

If i don't will i regret it?]

[Ron, I have a black one. Stays pretty much in the sand. It ingests the dirty sand and poops it back out, all cleaned, in minature pellets. His movements also sift the top layer of sand around. IMO, they may be ugly but good for the tank. They're also not solid enough to knock things about.]

[If he has been in there for 2 years and not hurt anything so far, I would leave him alone. Just my $0.02]

[If you really don't want him, catch him and take him to the lfs. They usually sell them.
They can also make a HUGE mess in the tank when they die.

Other than that, they are very good for the tank, as already mentioned - clean the rocks and sand! And fairly interesting to watch. At least, my boys think so :uhoh:]

[I had one that kept shifting my rockwork, so I put him the in the refugium. A few months later I had two. So I put one back in the reef tank.

And he's moving my sand/rockwork again.]
