"What the Heck is it?"

I hope this works, I have items in my BioCube29, this tank is in it's 3rd week of cycling, the Ammonia is down to almost nothing as are the Nitrite levels. The worm looking things are roughly 3 inches in length. The picture UKNOWN1 is approx 1 1/2 inch sticking out on my LR with a velvet type texture. Can you help me identify these items?

looks like hawaiian feather duster tubes. thay need an older tank to live. you shouden see any more.

I thought they looked like feather dusters, however these particular tubes are roughly the size of a toothpick in diameter. Keep in mind that is finely crushed Coral on the base. I was told today by a LFS that there are such things as Micro Feather Dusters, but these don't have the feathery ends from what I have seen yet. I am still VERY curious as to what that other picture is, because it seems like some sort of coral, but I haven't seen it anywhere. I was pretty sure there would be an answer here this morning when I woke up. I am very curious to learn more. As a newbie Saltwater guy I can say this is MUCH better then watching TV!!! :D
