What temp is too cold??

I live in Texas and our electric has been out since 6:30 am. The tank is usually 79 degrees. Right now it's down to 74. The house is at 61. I don't want to stress or lose anything. I have 6 fish and a few corals. The fish are blue tang, 2 clowns, pajama cardinals, engineer goby and a coral beauty angelfish. Corals are zoas, green leather, mushrooms and some pulsating Xenia. I left work and came home and started a big fire in the fireplace. Should I go buy a generator to get the tank going and the temp up? I just don't know how cold is too cold.

I've had my reef at 70 for about 12 hours with no signs of problems, but I was definitely worried. In nature, it's not uncommon for fore-reefs to be exposed to deep upwellings that can be below 70 degrees, but it doesn't typically last for more than a few hours.

O2 depletion will likely be a problem though. Once you start seeing signs of hypoxia it will generally be too late. It really doesn't take long for this to happen. I'd get on aeration duty immediately.

I bought a generator and it saved me during the last cold snap. IMO, it's worth having.

I picked up some Academy brand Battery operated Air pumps for I think $5.99. The even had airstones. The Academy I went to had them next to the guns in the back of the fishing Dept
