What pump do you use for water changes?

I need to buy another one, my maxi jet 12 finally died. Would like a little more powerful one for water changes for my 120. What do you use?

I use a quiet one 3000 . what I do is remove water, then start up return pump quiet one 4000 and my 3000 with no head can keep up and that's how I refill my system.

I use a big laguna pump- takes about 30 seconds to empty my 55g fuge, and about 45 to refill it (slightly higher head pressure).

I use a MJ 1200 to mix saltwater for 2 days then I use a Mag 12 to pump water into my sump for my weekly 25g water changes.

I use gravity, baby! I put my new water on a step ladder and syphon the it into the sump. Ain't too hi-tech, but it works...

I use a Quiet One (850 gph). I leave a 1" hose attached to it, drop it in the trash can I use to mix salt water.

edit...sorry, you just wanted to know what pump not how we do it...TMI :) (yep TMI...over-share)

1 gallon in/out per day. All automated. No buckets for me.

Thanks for all the replies and ideas. You know, I didn't get notification of most of them till I looked at the thread this morning to refresh my memory.

I'm leaning to a mag 7 or 9.5. They're on sale at Dr. F&S.

What do you think, Donnie, a mag 7 or mag 9? It's for mixing salt water and pumping back into the tank. Also I wonder if I could pump the sump out with it. I used my maxijet for that but it kept stopping it up. I've looked on the board and found one used one, but I have a credit at Dr. F&S that I could use up.

I use a mag 7 for both mixing and pumping the new water into the tank. The return pump (Dart) on the sump takes out the old waer. I can do a 35 gal water change in about 7 min.

i just use a quietone 1200, while its not incredible fast, its nice and small and easy to work with.

bought 2 actually, one for mix and filling the tank back up with. the other for misc stuff and draining so i dont have to worry about cleaning in between or anything i dont want in new water getting there.
