What kind of corals are these?

[I saw some at the LFS but forgot what its called. It has a hard base like a candycane or frogspawn. At the end there are whitish/greenish type of polyps shape like buttons or flowers. The are soft and each on its own short stalk. The cluster forms into a ball shape. Cant find a picture of them on the net so I cant show you what I am talking about. I believe the name starts with a A but cant swear by it. Anyone have any ideas?]

[No not it. Only see them in white or light greenish/lime tint. Small round heads, all the same size. about the size of a pencil eraser or small shirt button.]

[make sure you get alveopora and not goniopora (flowerpot). Alveopora has 12 "leaves" per stem while goniopora has 24.]

[Right, frags of these corals are unusual, unless the coral literally drops a baby.]

[They are starting to become more and more available and also seem to be much hardier than goni's which is great news. They are beautiful!]

[alveopora and goniopora have a hard inner skeleton with fleshy out covering, almost like a brain coral. Here is a picture of goniopora inflated to show you this more.]

[I bought a nice piece about the size of my thumb for 5 dollars from DNA. It had broken off a larger colony that they had in one of thier display tanks in the corner room.]
