a little history on this guy
he/she came w the tank and was transported to a friends 4yr established tank while i watched this tank for any cycle etc. We transported all water, sand, and liverock. had to replace approx 40 gallons (tank is 150 w 22g sump/fuge). i watched it for a month with crab, snails and some gsp and never kicked off a cycle. so after a month i moved him back home. i never saw the mark on him the few times i stopped by my friends house to check on my goods. it was when i got him home that i noticed it. a month went by and nothing changed , never got bigger or smaller. so i started to added the rest of the corals he was holding for me and gave him his first friend. it was a sleeper head goby and he went straight to the display after acclimation. no problems with him and then a few weeks later i added a yellow tang. again no probs with that fish, and the mark on the clown never changed. i then purchased a b&w clown from a LFS. he seemed to buddy up w the orig clown right away...which appeared to tick off his old friend the goby. he was eating fine right away (again tossed right in the tank w no QT, just acclimation). he was in his 2nd week when i noticed he was getting red gills, no longer eating, and not swimming as strong. the other fish started to stay away from him. i checked the water and it was the same as the day he was introduced to the tank. well he died, but never got a mark on his body. i have since purchased a QT tank, and it is currently holding some b/g chromis waiting introduction to the tank.
i guess i have a few questions
damn im long winded...thats it for now

thanks in advance

i guess i have a few questions
- what is the mark? my guess is my carelessness in using the wrong type of net for him and it snagged him
id like to confirm that this is a false perc. i want to get him another buddy, but ill stay w his species
when i get his buddy, should i move the orig clown to QT before i introduce the new guy to the main tank...say 2-3 weeks QT for the new guy and a week w both of them in QT?
damn im long winded...thats it for now
