What is this? - Lots of them in my tank...

[I'm sure that this is the most basic thing in the world, but what is this thing? I've had lots of them in my tank for a long time...they make little piles in my sand. They are yellow, and it's like they have one body and lots of little heads. I just happened to catch this one on the glass and have been meaning to ask what they are for a long time now. Just not quite sure how to enter a search for "yellow multi-headed worm-like thing" since I haven't gotten results on these terms so far.

[Hi Misty, I think it is a worm algae. Check out this link

green algae

There is a pic on the top of the page and another if you scroll down a bit. Is it the same thing? Good luck]

[hmmm try again
here it is so you can copy and paste if you need to

green algae

let me know if that works]

[No...it's definitely not an algae...looks a lot like spaghetti worms, but bright yellow instead of white. These things move, eat food if I drop a pellet on the sandbed, etc. They aren't on the glass that often, but on my rock, in the sand, etc.

They don't seem to be harmful...more like scavengers. Just curious to know what they are.]

[Misty, I would definitely say a different species(or color morph) of spaghettin worms. I had a crazy green one in my 10 gallon once, ugliest thing ever.]
