What is the growth on my kole tang?

I looked inside my tank when I got home from work today and saw my Kole Tang had a growth on his head resembling a pimple that I don't think I noticed before.

What could it be? Should I isolate it immediately? What can I do?

That's a weird one. How is it behaving? Normal breathing? Flashing? How long have you had it? Not sure that I would remove him just yet. said:
I decided to pull him out of the main tank today just in case I needed to treat him. Had to pull 95% of my live rock out to get him because he was a fast one. Ended up losing the following while doing so...

Emerald Crab
1 pair mated coral banded shrimp
1 anemone
1 serpent star

Oh well, you win some you lost some...the worst part of taking live rock out is having to reaquascape...

He seems to be doing a lot better. He never was acting funny, seemed completely normal save for the thing on his forehead...which is now starting to disappear. I will be watching him closely for a while to make sure he is kosher.

Thanks for everyone's assistance!

It was inflamed a little bit I think...but it looks flush now...I will keep you guys updated...

BTW: i am going to assume that I shouldn't use neutrogena acne cream on the tang...

proactiv is the preferred acne medication.....just ask Sean Jean...hahahaa

I had a yellow lab (cichlid) that had this happen and it went away, it looks like a scrape mark and white area is just raw skin.

Should be fine...sorry to hear about the crabs, shrimp and nem. bummer
