What is a Predator Reef?

I was on http://www.vividaquariums.com a few minutes ago looking at different fish. They used the term Predator Reef. This would seem to indicate that there are predators that are reef safe or maybe only certain corals or something.

Does anyone have any information on this "Mixed" reef?

Thanks,

TRaymond

I'm not certain but I've thought about them as being tanks with corals and agressive fish, with no shrimp or clams, etc. There are a lot of fish that are normally not considered "reef safe" because they will eat smaller fish, shrimp, crabs, urchins, clams and other inverts but could care less about corals.

A reef with a shark in it would be a predator reef. He won't eat hermits or snails but, shrimps and small fish would end up dinner.

might look at their chart
