I'm getting some nuisance anemones, and not aptasia. I think they're mejano, not sure how to spell. I know the copperbanded butterfly will eat the aptasia, but will they eat the mejano? If not, what will?
Don't know of anything that'd eat 'em (At least, not anything that you'd wanna put in your tank) but since they're generally bigger than Aiptasia, Majanos should be much easier to inject with vinegar/kalk/Joe's Juice/lemon juice, etc...
Thanks Brian. I'm not really sure that's what they are. They're about 1/2 inch in diameter and flat, and shrink up when touched, light brown in color. They're actually kind of cute. They're not very big and some of them are on the zoa rocks. I am going to go after them when I get some time.
I have had 3 and each has been reef safe. At least I have not caught one nibbling.
The one I have now is the first that made the trasition to frozen food though. The other 2 cleaned all the tanks and then wouldn't eat anything else.
Some folks (at IMAC this weekend) mentioned theirs didn't transition back to anemones after the frozen, but I find I can move rocks from other tanks to the tank s/he is in and s/he will eat them too.
So far I have had good luck with them.
Bill at Neptune's Cove ordered this one for me. Took him a couple of days to get it.
Frank, did the threadfin eat/bother your anemones, such as RBTA? I will try to post picture, but don't know how yet. I have a basic little digital camera and need to learn.
